The basic
technique that we will be using in our emotional
coaching sessions involves the use of a repetitive
question.
We
will start each session with defining the emotional
challenge, connected to binge eating, that we'd like
to resolve and designing a question that we will use
to accomplish emotional resolution and relief.
The
formal part of the coaching session starts with the
repetitive use of the designed question. It involves
asking you the question, receiving your answer and
then asking the question again.
This
basic repetitive process is continued until you gain
an insight into the underlying causes of the
emotional challenge that we are addressing with our
question.
This approach
routinely produces results within 30 to 45 minutes
of application, which is much faster than any traditional approach to
resolving painful emotions.
More
traditional coaching approaches tend to use general
conversation to guide an individual to emotional
resolution. This method is generally very slow.
There is no way to predict, nor is there consistency
in how quickly emotional insight occurs.
It is the
narrow and consistent focus on the problem to be
solved that makes it possible for a repetitive
question to produce emotional relief so quickly and
with it freedom from coping mechanisms, such as
binge eating.
Understanding the underlying causes of the emotional
challenge and how these causes influence you into
using binge eating as a coping mechanism will free
you from the compulsive tendency to binge.
With
increasing emotional awareness, your emotional
strength will also increase. Thus, it will become
easier to find alternatives to binging.
